July 20th 2005 should have been a happy day. It signalled the end of four grusome years of engineering for Beth at the local university but as the day approached all she felt was tired . Really really tired .
In the four years she had taken to study and earn her engineering degree, she had had to endure her parents seperation, watch her family be split among relatives, use her allowance to pay school fees for sister and provide business capital for her mother often ending up hungry herself , endure her family be evicted three times for failure to pay rent and experience the heart wrench of being an outcast from family and friends.
Yet even with very little break from the onslaught of hardships she had soldiered on coming forth in the top five students that topped the university that year. One month to that graduation day she had secured a job with an international firm.
Using her first earnings she paid rent for a modest house and gradually the family gathered slowly back untill they were back under one roof . The trials had taken a toll on all of them and it would be a while before they all didnt feel very old but for that time the gift of their own home was more than they could have imagined
