aren loved shadow
it had been an ordinary day when he had realized it.
the two curled up on the couch, laughing over their tv show, laughing over silly voice overs and headcanons that made him smile or cry inside. the steaming cups of tea in both their hands, hers carefully cherished as if it would shatter with a single touch. she had turned to him, grinning that smile she appeared to reserve only for him. and in that moment the words had tumbled into his head like lost drunks and stuck there, and he could almost taste them, already on his lips trying to escape. he swallowed them, for he could not ruin this if she did not feel the same
shadow loved aren too.
angry shouts and cried retorts had flown around on her day.
doors slammed, "fine!"s shouted, and tears shed in private over their argument. she had swallowed her anger and headed out to cool down. every muscle in her body had been tense as she sat down on the bench. the rain poured down heavily while she swam in her worries. hours passed and the rain had dried out before she snapped out of her stupor. the sun had set and a million gorgeous stars shown out on the rare clear night. she had already turned her head to talk to him before she realized, and with her smile turned to frown, she uttered the single line in both silence and ear shattering noise. she realized so many things in that moment, and everything was revealed in clarity. she had fallen for him too.

from quiet moments in which she spoke of times long past
to laughter/tears in which he fixed her, the moments fast
their hearts united at last
it's time to raise the ships mast.
