LOCAL BANK ROBBED!
The newspaper said. That was something that shouldn't of interested Eric, but it did. All he knew of his past was that he found in a bank vault. He looked up at Ms. Shore.
"Ms. Shore?" he said, "I was wondering if you could give me some money to spend at the comic book store?"
"What a odd notion!" said Ms. Shore, "A store that only sells comic books! Why, you think that would be as unusual as a boy found in a bank vault!"
"Ms. Shore..."
"The bank where you was found was robbed. How about that!"
"I never told you that. How did you know.."
Ms. Shore folded the newspaper and looked right at Eric. "Oh, I know. Now, what is this comic book store you talk of? Oh, a store that sells comic books. How odd. What a oddity of the world. I never heard of such a thing!"
"Ms. Shore"
"Hush!" she said, putting up her hand, "I will not hear any more of what do you call this?"
"Comic book store."
"How, and I bet there's stores that sell magic wands and dragons. Where I come from..." than she stopped.
Eric, gave her a weird look, than he got up from his seat and walked over to the bubbly sink.
"Oh!" said Miss. Shore, "I see your going to finally do your chores around here. Remember, I can send you right back to the orphanage, and we wouldn't want that!"
Eric mumbled, "That wouldn't be so bad"
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, Miss. Shore" said Eric, as his hands got soapy.
"Your real last name isn't even Jackson", said Miss. Shore, "I just got told by the orphanage that was what was on your note pinned to you in the bank vault. Eric Jackson. Born January, 1992."
"I know", said Eric, winching at the face.
"January 1992. So young. I was born way before that."
"So, I've heard" Eric mumbled, "you where born in the stone ages"
"What did you say?!" she said.
