Recent studies have said and explained how if you have a new experience every day for a year, that year seems longer. I found a website all about this theory and a man out to test it known as The Time Hack. I have gotten inspired by this and have tried to do the same but due to my age of 16, this is a bit difficult because i have so many restrictions. Now that I think about it though, life has no restrictions and I have just made up another excuse for myself for something that is difficult. I am the type of person who needs strong role models in my life to help me eliminate these types of excuse and have sparks of inspiration to achieve greatness.
One of my most important role models that I look up to would have to be DeMoreo Ford. This man used to play wide receiver for the UK Wildcats and coached me during my freshman year at Lexington Catholic. He coached me but I not only learned how to run a good route but also I learned a lot about life. This past year he worked as a wide receiver coach at LaGrange College in Georgia. When I thought about quitting during the summer going into my Sophomore year, he was the one who talked me out of it and told me that I have improved way too much to throw it all away and that I would regret this in the future. I could not thank him more for saying that because I had one of the funnest years of football in my life that following season.
Another one of my role models has to be my head football coach, Bill Letton. He is the definition of a man. A man that only a fool would disrespect. Just looking at him can make anyone cower down. He is the type of person who you do not want to make unhappy because his scream will rattle your bones, but on the flip side you can always talk to him about whatever and he can make you laugh. I have such a great amount of respect for him and never disagree with a decision of his. He married his high school sweetheart, has three children and the youngest one who is in 7th grade can already grow facial hair and is twice the size of me and many other kids on the team. Everybody obeys Daddy or else he will think of the worst punishment imaginable. His punishments are obscure and I honestly do not think that anyone else could think of something so physically demanding as such. If Daddy tells you something or suggests something, you do it, plain and simple.
These two men have taught me more about myself without hardly using any words. That is why they are my role models. If I am ever having some sort of trouble I can always go to them for some advice. They help me realize that excuses are all in my mind and that I can overcome any task if I try. They are not only my coaches for football, they are also my coaches for life.
