a summer breeze blows through spring trees
as wiley rays Wilt upon my freckling face,
and the lilac bush grows 10 feet tall-
blossoms peek through my window pane.
shadows dance on the scratchy floor
filling cracks and painting pictures.
clouds turn pink with envy of the morn',
as my eyes grow noticeably weaker.
i sit here staring at blank walls
as the darkness settles in;
it blankets me in starlit grace
while i think of now, while i think of then.
memories fade like photographs:
scratched and aged with time,
but feelings grow like weeds in spring"
uncontrolled and unconfined.
life may seem to pass me by
but in the end I know one thing:
there's always something to look forward to-
the year will always bring me spring.
