"Ok, so how far is that from here?" Dean asked.
"Umm... about 150 miles. 3 hours, maybe? Longer if we drive the whole way, instead of go by boat." He said.
Dean looked at him. "Let's go."


"So, are you looking to adopt?" The cheery middle aged woman asked the brothers as they headed towards Mary's old room.
"Umm... No, ma'm. We- uh- We were just wanting to see Mary's room." Dean replied.
"Oh, ok. Because lots of couples come in looking to adopt." She said, smiling over her shoulder.
"Umm... Hehe... What?" Dean asked, knowing what she thought, but trying to see where this conversation was going.
"Well, you know. Couples. Who can't have children together. They adopt." She said, as if she were explaining it to a five year old.
"We're brothers." Sam said mildly, looking at the walls around them, trying not to laugh. She turned around, turning a shade of red that neither of the brothers thought was possible. The rest of the way to the room was silent.
"Emma? Open the door, hon!" She said, knocking on a door. The door opened to a teenager with cream colored hair, almost white skin, bright green eyes with dark circles under them. She was about 5'2", which was short, even for Dean, at 6'1", and even more so for Sam, at 6'4", and was maybe 90 pounds.
"What?" She asked sharply. She exhaled and pinched the bridge of her nose. "Sorry, Ms. Harrison."
"It's ok, sweet. You're under a lot of stress. These boys were friends of Mary's. I know-"
"Are. She is not dead."
"Right. I know you knew all of her friends, so I just wanted to make sure that they were. Sam and Dean tensed up. This girl had no reason to to lie for them. She gave them a long look.
