Prologue
"So do you think you can keep up?" She asks with a whimsical smile. Her brown eyes are mocking him, daring him to take the challenge. Her slightly oversized glasses are sliding down her nose. She pushes up her glasses, twitching her nose once those thick frames are back in their proper place. The one of the many quirks he adored, but he would never admit it.
He tries to keep himself from laughing, but it was an unsuccessful attempt. This was bad. And he knew it. He was becoming attached, and he doesn't do attachments. But, that smile was dangerous. It was going to make him fall for her. That wasn't even the worse part. She was already falling for him, and she was waiting for him to figure it out. In the back of his mind he already knew. After all she did wear her heart on her sleeve-- actually it was more like a flashing neon sign taped to forehead, but he was going to ignore those flashing lights as long as he could.
"I think you should be more concerned if you can keep up," He responds with one eyebrow raised.
"Well, if you're so confident then you wouldn't mind making a wager out of this then."
"A wager? What kind of wager are you talking about?"
"Whoever gets to the end of the block first gets to pick the movie tonight, and the loser has to make dinner."
"Alright. Ready, start-- Hey!" He shouted. She was already a good 10 steps away before he realized what had happened. Both of them raced towards the finish line, but this was just the beginning for them.
It was their story and it was filled with cheesy Bollywood movies, exploding paint tubes, salty ocean air, and a mysterious paintbrush thief.
Chapter 1:
"I really don't understand why you're fawning over this international kid."
"It's because you haven't heard him speak--that accent is to die for," says Florence with a dreamy sigh.
"To die for huh? Isn't that what you said about the last guy, Flo?" Ria asks. However Flo was so lost in her world of handsome men that she didn't even catch her best friends mocking tone
