{Interlude about father and his name Wellington Burtch. Go into description about father's past and how he was an all time warlock who held a seat on the Council with an iron fist. Soon though, council members were to be bought off and locked into contracts with humans who began to misuse their magical properties. Schools built especially for Alchemy and the sciences were shot to ruins when funding fell through the floor. Massive weather changes took place and the government and councils response to this was to banish many affluent families to the outskirts of major cities and in some cases even whole villages were wiped off the map. The human based government feared the use of magic and alchemy, basically anything supernatural-y feeling.

There will always be a corrupt government and with that the magical community has managed to infiltrate interesting positions withing parliament, etc etc. Being forced underground, the magical community is all accepting of humans with supernatural capabilities that have been stifled with traditional homosapien raisings. They try to help these lost people find what element they are most affluent to.


Divided, the government has taken to calling the people with magic abilities the Afflicted. It firmly believes in the fact that the Allmorn (god that is worshipped in the Westerlends) has created perfect beings and that they are the only ones allowed to procreate, thrive within a community etc etc.
