Drunken Love
"Promise not tomorrow" Jayden slurred swaying just a bit. His drink sloshed down the front of his grey t-shirt but he was too wasted to even notice. I was still holing on by a thread, the alcohol yet to make it to my brain.
"Come again?" I said leaning on the marble counter top to hold myself up. I glanced up at him through my eyelashes. He was looking at me like that had been the most serious thing he had just said in his entire life. Jayden came around the counter stumbling and tripping over his feet. He moved his black bangs out of his face and gave me an off center smile. His cup was halfway empty. He gulped down the rest of whatever drink was in there and threw the red plastic cup on the tile floor. Jayden came and rested his cheek on my shoulder and tilted his head so our eyes made contact. His jade color eyes were incredibly intense at this moment.
"Promise me you'll love me don't wait till tomorrow" He said with the straightest face he could muster while under the influence. His voice so clear and accurate that no one who walked into the room at this moment would have guessed he was drunk beyond his years. All I could do was stare at him for a brief moment. Then without giving it a second thought I leaned in and kissed him softly pressing my warm lips to his cool ones, hoping he would feel it, the way the heat passed through our bodies, how electricity flew through our connection. Understand it all, everything that I felt towards him in words I couldn't explain.
Jayden pulled away, his breath reeked of oh so lovely poison, his eyes grayed and shimmered over, did not he realize what he meant to me?
"I love you I promise" I told him as his over used body sagged on mine. I put my arm around his waist. He giggled like a little school girl and wrapped his arms clumsily round my neck placing a good wet kiss on my cheek. He was totally wasted. What was I suppose to do with him drunk like this.
I helped walk half stagger him back to the room we were sharing. It was going to be tricky trying to get him up the stairs. All I could do was hope we made it together up there in one piece.

I had made him a promise I would keep and one he would forget not even to remember tomorrow.
