It is the strange loads such as this that can get you in trouble. With all the loads of the season to be flown between the village and the lodge, I would become quite comfortable with how many fuel jugs, propane bottles, and guest baggage I could carry and just barely make it off the water. So comfortable in fact that I would forget the lesson I have just learned about "strange loads" and get the plane stuck on the water. I would refine my limits of what the plane would carry by occasionally being reminded that not every takeoff would be successful.
