-Iris!? what the...!?- that's all he managed to say as he saw her little sister walking down the edge of the cornice, just outside his window. Her orange and yellow striped dress, that one she had always claimed to be her favourite one, was completely soaked because of the heavy rains outside, and it seemed like there wasn't a single expression on her face: like if she was in a trance. Of course, he couldn't care much about it in that moment: Iris, her little sister, the only family he had left, was walking by the edge of a building, four story height.
He knew what he had to do. He couldn't lose her. She was...
He jumped at the window and opened it, and in a flash, he crossed it immediately.
He backed off a second after landing at the cornice: It was a great height, even though the building had more floors over him. -Come on!- he told to himself. There were more important things to think about than just...
-Iris! come here NOW!- he yelled at the twelve year old child, that kept walking as if she was anywhere else, calm and without worries. He started to follow her, as she turned around the corner of the building. The rain was heavy, just like it had been for several days now, and his dry hair and clothes were soon as soaked as Iris's face, who had just stopped and turned around on her place, and smiled at him, with her feet right at the edge of the cornice.
-IRIS, I MEAN IT! GET OVER HERE, NOW! PLEASE!- he extended his arm, trying to reach Iris's wrist, but she was way too far. Iris, with a gentle and sweet smile on her face, kept looking at him as he started to sob, unable to reach her, and just as she lost balance and slipped off the edge, she managed to say a last word.

Come on Nate!
NATHAN!
He jumped off bed as her little sister Iris, who fifteen seconds ago was walking by the edge of a four story building under the rain, jumped over his bed and hugged him cheerfully. -I'm sorry to wake you up, but IT'S TODAY! IT'S TODAY! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!-
Nathan Walkers, 23 years old that same day, hugged tight her little sister.
And as she asked if everything was ok, Nate smiled, held her hands, and said:
-Of course. Let's get going now- Just as the first sunlight appeared over the city outside their window.
