His room looked like an average college students. There were Linkin Park and Arcade Posters on the wall and a small LCD televison resting on a small dresser with both an Xbox and a PlayStation hooked to it. Dirty clothes littered the floor, the furniture and just about any other flat surface that you could find. A few crushed cans of cheap beer rattled across the floor as David made his way to his bed.
It may look like an average college student's room, David thought, but its not. Just like I'm not an average college student.
He pushed aside the bed and began to pull up the carpet from the corner. Underneth the carpet, a section of the floor had been cut away and a borad with a finger hole had been laid over it. Deftly, he removed the board and veiwed the contents that lay with. He had come to campus a week early every year since his freshman year to craft such a hidey hole in every dorm room he had had. If he had be found cutting up the floors of the residence halls, he would be in trouble, but it was worth the risk. And far better then being caught unaware again
Knives and daggers were not allowed on campus. neither was the hand crossbow, come to think of it. And vials of multi colored liquids were hard to explain. Quickly, David emptyed the conents of the cubby in to a black canvas duffel bag. As he worked, moving weapons and mystical trinkets from one hiding spot to another, his mind settled on that night once more. He was so memories of the past, of his loss, that he never heard her enter.
When the hand grabbed his shoulder, he pulled a large curved blade free from its leather scabbard and out in front of him in one fluid movement, shifting his feet to charge if he needed to.
"Jesus, David!" The petie redhead yelled at him as the blade dance an inch from her face. "What the fuck is wrong with you! Didn't you hear me calling your name from the doorway?
"Sorry, no I didn't," David's cheek flushed. "I was caught in a memory. Forgot where I was." He replaced the kurki blade in the leather scabbard and threw in into the duffel bag, cinching it closed. "Thomas isn't here Monica, he has Bio lab until four."
"I actually knew that," Monica Gellar said as she plopped down on the rooms other bed, her attitude quickly recovering to her carefree norm. it wasn't the first time that she had startled David. They both knew that his reactions to such things were not normal, and she knew that he was holding something in, but she never pried. It was one of the things that he liked best about her.
