Midnight OR The Beautiful Void
Has this ever happened to anyone else? Or is it just me?

Midnight is a strange time for those with deep thoughts. At this middle ground between two days, it seems as if every one of our feelings, thoughts and memories is instantly multiplied by a thousand. A simple crush suddenly becomes the love of your life, and you inexplicably start longing for that special someone to be by your side. That song you heard on the radio in the evening starts playing in your head on an endless loop. The complete darkness of your bedroom is soon replaced by visions of that which was, is, and will be.

At Midnight, the words "usual" and "average" have practically no meaning. Midnight is one of those times in which our imaginations are at their most uncontrollable, giving us plenty of opportunities to visualize things we normally wouldn't be able to. If the total lack of activity that surrounds you is making you uneasy, you can feel free to change anything you want. At Midnight, your mind is your palette - the darkness, your canvas.

I like to think of Midnight as an actual place. In my mind, Midnight is a great place where people can go to sit and think about philosophy, science, or whatever other subjects they want to think about. It is also a nice place for those who want to rest but not sleep. Painters and musicians are all welcome at Midnight. And don't worry about your essays, paintings, or melodies taking up too much space. Midnight has plenty of darkness to go around, with its beautiful shades of pitch black stretching an infinite distance in all directions. The beauty of Midnight is only limited to how much you can remember.

I'd like to leave you with this final thought: the next time you are awake at night, and the clock nears Twelve, don't think of it as a curse. Think of it as an invitation to join us thinkers, painters, and songwriters in the beautiful void that is Midnight.
