AN/ This is the prologue. It is set in modern times, in Warwickshire, England. This is my Project Fiction 365 project.

Everyone always says how nice the village of Grantbury Corner is. The people are so nice. The scenery is so nice. The shops are so nice. The school is so nice. Even the animals seem to be abnormally nice to everyone. No dogs bark out of turn; no cats scratch without a reasonable cause; no strays worm their way into your rubbish and create a mess of your front garden.
The village itself is small and tucked away in the countryside, almost like it is hiding from the outside world. There is no more than 70 permanent inhabitants, though the population falls during the holidays. No one had ever heard of the village, before it happened, only the people who lived there and occasionally their family.
They say though, that if something is hidden away and cut off from the outside world, that it can cause something to develop that can cause good people to turn evil; to turn into hate-driven twisted individuals.
The people of Grantbury Corner didn't know it yet, but it was happening. Right under their nose. And the village could do nothing but watch as the people who hated it plotted it's destruction.
Tucked away in a small hairdressing salon, was the receptionist, Lydia Warren. Hiding behind fake smiles and her long blonde hair, was the athlete, Hollie Davies. Holed away in the red brick building known as Grantbury Corner Secondary School was the schoolboy Scott Knowles.
When three people united by their hate of their village have one aim, to destroy their 'home' from the inside out, what do they do? It's perfectly simple.
They invent a serial killer, by the name of John Smith.
