There they are! Look at all of them!! Proclaimed the driver on the second of my three buses this morning
'Them' was turkeys. A wild flock in a decidedly un-wild area. We bus riders gawked out the right side windows, no fewer then 15 mature Toms were trooping up an embankment next to the holding pond outside the local Costco.
Gotta love that bus. I've only been riding it since school started it in September, but I feel it is one of those 'caring-groups' that some times just form. This particular bus is an express that begins its run at a 'second-ring suburban' shopping center park & ride lot, then winds it way to a first ring suburb mall, then a city park/lot, and a church parking area, before it jumps on the freeway for a quick (with 'watch for buses on shoulder) efficient mad-dash for the downtown area to disgorge its passengers, the majority of which work in nearby shops and offices amply supplied with employees by the bus company. There are a few like me, however, for whom this bus is a link, and need to transfer to another bus route to get to their final destination.

I changed the page name with my first effort to 'The Middle Bus' which seems to have made this whole she-bang titled that. I was going to change that, but then got to pondering it. There are long buses, the normal ones most students and urban commuters are familiar with. And there are 'short buses'-smaller sized commuter buses, airport shuttles, mobility vans, etc. Some people us the term 'short bus' in a derogatory way: to refer to special education students who often ride on these separate, shorter buses.Middle-sized buses? To be sure, there are in between size buses. They look like shortened Greyhounds, have a raised seeing area in the back and are Eco-friendly.
But the title reads The Middle Bus. It is not about vehicles. It is about a stage of life. The time spent in heaven- the other side of the veil, preparing for my trip here, and the approximate nine months I spent in my mothers womb, that was my short bus. While on it I was preparing spiritually and physically for my arrival, and once conveyed through birth to my earthy destination, I boarded the middle bus. Some day, that bus will come to a stop, and my journey ended, I will board a bus for my trip back across the veil, to the great reward that is heaven.
