Prologue of THE KEY
It all began with the dawn of the First Age.
Already elves of old were roaming the land - I wouldn't know when they had come, nor would I know when the great Loch Ness had ventured over, yet soon to follow was the first sighting of It and the first inkling of fear entering elves hearts. The medieval goblins were also lumbering around the earth, hungrily scooping up handfuls of soil, back in those days where goblins did not eat flesh and elves were in peace with them.
Admist their business and gathering of berries, nuts and roots, the species were unaware that in a parallel universe, a New World was forming. Dwarves, gnomes, mermaids, ogres, and other types of supposedly mythical creatures were very soon part of this World of elves and goblins, however they arrived. They, too, hadn't any idea that a World was forming in a planet away from them, and that it was possible to get there.
And then had come something that none of them had expected.
A Human, a real life Human, was found walking in the flower garden of the Faerie Princess, who, though that sounds such a big role, do take note that she was hardly involved in all in ruling (if you like), and used this important position as an excuse to have 10 closets, 2 private bathrooms, a king - sized bed, a store - full of clothes, and to brush her hair every seventh second.
Apparently, or so had said the maid of the princess, the Human was seen sniffing a flower - "A rose to be exzact. Krista's (the princess' name) favorite type, yes, yes." - and delicately attempting to pluck it out of the ground.
The maid was to summon the king's horses and warriors to instantly come - which they did, without any of the usual difficulty of where's - my - coat and oh - that - is - my - horse that any sane creature would do, but instead these were trained creatures. Fast and swift they rode, the first light of the morning guiding them. Arriving, they seized the Human and put him on a horse, riding away.
All this time Krista had been dozing in her bed.
The Human was brought to court immediately, the courts - men (I mean, courts - creatures) gnomes and leprechauns. The gnomes had reported later, after the Human's death, that his name was Char Lee and he had been banished from his own World, never to return. Seeking solitude, he wandered into an un - discovered galaxy, the galaxy of the Elves and Dwarves - Lunalia.
After telling him that he did not belong, he breathed his last and was buried in the 'new' galaxy. The creatures had made a solemn oath to never let another human into the World, and they had kept it.
Until this day.
