The small fish like creatures called Shining Grapas swam around in their bowl, bone like fingers grabbing at the food and shoving it into a fanged mouth. Above their fangs sat a single yellow eye always watching for more food to devour. They were a strange type of fish, whenever they ate certain food stuffs they would glow brightly. The people of the village found them useful for lighting up dark places, so naturally they were taken into homes as pets.
“That’s you all sorted, now time to sort myself out” The girl walked to the mirror to inspect the damage the snow and cold had done to her fur. Her reflection stared back at her, a young naked Otter with brown fur covering her body, with the exception of her face which was (grey or white) than the rest of he body, it was often referred to as her mask, and her eyes a deep brown hazel colour. She started to tug at parts of her fur, small clumps of brown coming away. “Winter must be ending soon. Looks like my winter coat is falling out.” She searched the draws on her table next to the mirror, searching for a comb to remove the dead fur. Looking through each draw, cursing a little when she remembered her sister’s words, about her being an untidy and unorganised Otter. “Stupid sister… thinks she knows everything… ”

As the Otter got closer it started to stir, its three blind furred heads on its thin body raising in her direction. Its mouths opening and letting each of their twin purple tongues hang out.
"Now. I am giving you a chance to show you can behave" She spoke. The heads just swaying at her, tasting the air with their tongues. She put out a hand in front of the plants main head, it started to lick the offering slowly at first. Suddenly it opened wide and clamped down on her hand, its tongues wrapping around her fingers and holding her in. "I warned you !" She brought the palm of her other down hard across its head and struck it hard. The plant reeled back, letting her go without a sound as its other heads came up to stroke and comfort where it was struck.
"Didn't I warn you. All I wanted you to do was remove the winter coat that is coming off of me." All three furred heads stroked against her hand, licking slightly, hoping for a second chance. "You always do this... But since I cant find my comb, I will give you one, more chance." The two smaller heads urged her closer the bigger one. She sat down in front of them and presented an arm.
