CHANGES FOR STEPHANIE
Stephanie walked into her office of Harris Investigations. Eva had already made her coffee and was holding her cup ready in one hand, and her messages in the other.
"Morning Eva. What would I do without you here?" Stephanie asked.
"Thanks, Mr. Anderson called and said he is running late but will be here as soon as possible, and Mrs. Jackson called wanting to know if you found out who her husbands good for nothing tramp is yet so she can take him for everything he has?"
"Get ahold of Dirk and find out if he is working for me or not." Stephanie said. "If he is, then tell him I want those pictures for Mrs. Jackson no later than Friday and if not then I wish him well on his job hunting."
"You got it." Eva said as she pulled Stephanie Harris's door shut for her.
"Stephanie threw her mail on her desk and walked over to pull the blinds open. The sun was absent. It was early fall and the sky was gray in color making it look dreary and cold out. She had a full day of client meetings and then hopefully a weekend to herself away from the city.
Her mail was mainly junk but one caught her eye. A red envelope. It wasn't Valentines day, and she hadn't dated in months so she wasn't expecting anything. She sipped her coffee and sat back to open the envelope. Inside was a plain white card with the letter "C" on the front of it. Inside, a poem that read,
Changes for Stephanie are soon to be
if she doesn't solve the murder of Maggie May Dean.
