She smiled and sauntered off down an adjacent hallway, quickly becoming enveloped by the increasing crowds of revelers. I stood there as more people approached the assortment of uppers, downers, psychedelics, pharmaceuticals, and whatever else was in there. That girl was one of those people who left a lasting crease in your brain. It had been so long since he'd had an impressions such as that one. He allowed his mind to wander; thinking about her wouldn't do any good now, and he knew he wouldn't forget her.

/As I lay there, the most horrendous noise began to wind its way down to me. A continuous sputtering, quivering, garbled staticy buzz, right above my bed, slowly roared into life, only to fade away moments later. What the hell was this stuff? My stomach dropped suddenly, as if I'd just crested the first hill of a roller coaster, or done a flip underwater.../

...

The thing I had taken had definitely begun to take hold. I could feel something within me, invading, or awakening, a tugging under my armpits, something that felt /real/, not under any influence, but totally lucid. A feeling of comfort flickered through me.

Then she was back, up close behind me, delicately grasping my wrist, slowly massaging it with her thumb, head bent towards my ear, whispering, "Hey again...", sending an involuntary shiver through my back and up my arms.
