I stand there completely shocked. Was it just me or is Ross sincerely interested in me? This is all happening so fast. I start running and after a little while I'm back home and it's about 7 O'clock now. I burst through the front doors and kick off my shoes and hang my backpack up.
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" I yell into the kitchen.
"No problem Cait. Just keep your eyes on the time better next time." My mom says while I walk into the kitchen. My family was sitting around the kitchen table eating something that smelled like pasta.
"So! Whats for dinner?"
"Mac and cheese!" My 8 year old brother Logan tells me.
"Sounds good!" In take my seat next to my older brother Jonathon, He's 22.
"So why are you late Cait?" My Dad says while raising his eyebrows.
"I was taking a walk along the beach." I say honestly.
Should I tell them who I was with? No, I decide. I'd better keep that to myself for now.
After dinner I head up stairs to my room. It was a medium sized room with lilac walls and a white queen sized bed towards the left side of the room and a big white dresser with a big mirror towards the right side of the room. And there was a door that lead to a simple bathroom on the right also. But my favorite part of the room was the balcony. I got the room with the balcony cause it was the only room without an air conditioner. There is an amazing view of the ocean from it. I love going out there at night time and looking up at all the stars. I set my red necklace on the dresser and plop down on my bed looking up at the ceiling. Wow. what a past couple days I've had. I cant wait till my Birthday. Today is the 4th and my 18th Birthday is on my 28th. "Finally 18" I say. "I'll finally be aloud to date." I've dated behind my parents back before and it didn't turn out good for either party. My heart still hurts from it and that was a year ago. I decided I would wait till I was 18 to date again, Just like what my parents want. I really like Ross though. But I'm going to keep the promise I made even if it kills me.
BEEP! BEEP!
I jump and then check my phone.
Ross: Hey Caitlynne?! This is Ross. Is this number working?
Me: Yes! It is! This is Caitlynne.
Ross: Good! Hey! Did you want to hang out tomorrow??
Me: Tomorrow? I dunno my family might be doing something. I'll go ask. Brb
Ross: K. Sounds good.
I get up and open my door. "Mom! Are we doing anything tomorrow?!?!" I yell.
"I think we were going to go see that new movie Frozen!" She yells back.
"Do I have to come? I don't really want to see it!"
"That's fine honey!"
I close my door and lay back on my bed.
Me: I'm free tomorrow! I can hang. What are we going to do?
Ross: Sweet! I'm not gonna tell you! It's a surprise! Just meet me at the volleyball courts tomorrow at 12 O'clock. Okay?
Me: Sounds good. And I hate surprises. Lol
Ross: Too bad! Hey, I'm gonna go. My family wants to play a card game. Lol
Me: Okay. Have fun! Oh, and thank you again for my necklace.
Ross: It was my pleasure. Good night Caitlynne.
Me: Night Ross :)
I was a little sad he had to go. I wonder what he has in store for tomorrow. And is this a date? I get ready for bed even though by now it's only 9 O'clock. I was tired thought.
