I smile back at her before Leo and I head out to the floor. I pause for a second to scout a spot for us, but Leo grabs my hand and starts dragging me toward the far corner. I'm all giddy and follow like a lost puppy. Finally, we reach the far wall, and he pushes me against it. Wow. He's not really wasting time. He moves in close and kisses my lips. I melt for a moment, and there's nothing else in the world but the two of us. Cliché, yeah, but I sure don't notice anything else. I run a hand through his hair, and my other goes to his back.
His tongue suddenly forces my lips apart, and I bring my tongue up to meet his. After a few moments, I find myself thinking about all the ways this could end badly. He could be a demon. He could be a vampire. He could be some other-dimensional beast. Or he could be just a hot guy who's into me.
"You okay? Am I moving too fast?" His voice cuts through my thoughts.
Shit. Why am I so stupid? "Yeah, I'm fine. It's just been a weird night. I'm really sorry. I'm normally not this sad, I promise."
He offers a smirk. "We can slow down if you want."
"I'd really appreciate it. Could we just dance for a while?"
His only response is to grab my hands and place them over his shoulders and get in closer to me, placing his hands on my hips. My thoughts and fears quiet for a while as I lose myself in the music and Leo's eyes.

After a few songs, I finally say that we should we should get back to the others. He nods, and we navigate our way back to the bar. Molly's in Aurica's lap, and they're making out. I glance back at Leo, blushing a bit, but he's got a smirk stuck on his face. After a few moments, I cough and sit myself back down in front of my drink.
Molly glares at me. "Did you really have to call attention, Alex?"
I grin at her. "Of course! Anyway, isn't this that song you really like?"
Aurica answers, "I actually think she kinda hates this one." Molly nods and looks at me like I've grown a second head.
I check my shoulder and intone, "No, I think she really likes this song."
"Ah," Molly replies and slips off Aurica's lap. "Yeah, babe, I *really* like this song." I can almost hear her eyes roll.
Aurica looks at me and then Leo. "All right. Have fun." Then she's on her feet and taking Molly back to the dance floor.
