You'd think that a friend's message announcing the birth of their child would be worth saving, but no - it's gone - part of my every-month-or-so purge of unnecessary clutter on my phone. I did call Gia a couple days after the message, though, so I'm not completely horrible. Congratulated her and whatnot - asked how the kid was doing and how she was doing. Chandra was healthy and sleeping a lot. Gia ended up having some complications, though. She said that her blood pressure had spiked considerably since giving birth, so the doctors were monitoring that closely. She also ended up with a case of Bell's palsy, which she was being given steroids for.
And then there was the vaginal tearing. Stitches were required. She said that she hadn't really given things a good look down there yet and didn't really want to. It was one of those things that she was saving until either when the stitches were removed or when she'd next be able to move the other half of her face again.
I didn't ask about the father. She didn't mention him either.
Last time I visited her - when she was at seven months - they were trying to live together, trying to make things work. But they couldn't stand each other - it was clear every time they were together and every time that Gia talked about him. He had no personality, but she dated him briefly because he had a huge cock. Then they broke-up. Then I came along for a couple months purely in the 'fuck buddy' capacity. Then they got back together again for a week or so before finally getting completely sick of each other for good.
