with that?"
"You're talking to Hal, Quinn," Harvey patted his brother's shoulder. "He's most likely going to make sure every single one of the books are tidy before he even reads it."
Hal grinned. He knew that to be true.
It was nearing the end of October, just a few days before Halloween. These past months with a new friend in Quinn hasn't changed Hal that much. He would still prefer to stay indoors with a cup of hot chocolate (with a pinch of coffee) and a bunch of books by his side.
Tonight wasn't any different. Except that now with Quinn's books scattered around the house, Hal has a lot of reading to catch up with.
On most days, you could find him sitting on the porch in his pajamas and curled up with a book. Whereas Harvey found himself someone as athletically inclined as Quinn, Hal was content to know that Quinn was also a huge bookworm. On some days, Quinn and Hal would curl up together in front of a thick book, laughing and discussing to themselves. And as the days passed, Hal just keeps getting more and more enamored by the great minotaur he called his friend.
Harvey, on the other hand, was still getting into making reading a habit. Hal would see to it that he sits down and cracks open a book. With Harvey's short attention span, this could sometimes prove difficult.
"Chapter one's kinda long," he grumbled as he dug deeper into the couch, flipping through what Hal called "a five-hundred page cliffhanger".
"It'll be worth it," said Hal. "Once you get into reading, you're never going to want to put down another book again. Trust me on this, Harvey."
"Oh, well, fine. But how many chapters is this again?"
"Hmm, I can't remember...I haven't really finished the book, but the last time I took a look--forty chapters, give or take?"
Hal could remember the groan that Harvey made. He sat down and elbowed his brother on his side.
"I'm not giving up until you become a bookworm like me!" Hal cackled, patting Harvey's back. Harvey, on the other hand, sighed and turned to chapter two. He knows Hal's going to back up those words.
Especially when it comes to things like books.
