Emma was having a good day. She reflected on her good fortune as she lay awake in bed that night. First, she had gotten her dream job. It wasn't easy getting in on the ground floor the Porter Pharmacueticals but the the fact that she had an in with the current CEO's nephew couldn't be discounted. Now all she had to do was make sure that no one at the company was aware of her relationship with Jackson and everything would be ok. She had surprised him with dinner and her news that night. He was so happy for her, he said. Knew that she could it. She hadn't been sure of course. Hadn't been sure that she would pass all the background and drug testing. She barely anything for the week leading up to the drug test, knowing that even poppy seeds could cause a bad reaction. That was ok she thought if she just stuck to water and toast. Of course then Randy showed up with the article on toxins in the air causing positive test results. She fretting over nothing in the end. That woman had been the one shining light in life after her parents death. It was good that she stayed by Emma's side all those years. Emma wasn't sure what would have happened to her if Gloria hadn't showed up when she did. It still amazed Emma that she had been placed in the woman's care and that she had given up her life just to make sure that Emma didn't have to leave the home she had grown up in. It was still hard to think about selling the place but it was too big for her and while it held great memories it still had sad ones. It was good that for her in the end. The extra money paid off her student loans that she had to take out in order to pay for college. Her scholarships had only covered so much but that's what happens when you attend the most prestigious university in the state. She used some of the money to buy her car and pay her condo fees until she found a job, which she had. It had been hard work job hunting especially since she had no experience.
