Attacked.
Alley.
There was a Werewolf in my bed.
Blindly, I ripped at the sheets.
I was the Werewolf.
Chapter II:
Anthony~
Most people saw a room full of people. I saw a landscape of politics and history. "Good evening," I said to Natalie--she had to be kept apart from Ben after their acrimonious break up. On cue, Ben walked into the room. I gave Natalie an apologetic look and intercepted Ben.
"I heard you're working on a more efficient de Cabre loop," I said--nerdy conversation usually derailed him from his former feminine counterpart.
"Yes, I'm running into problems with the moon variable on the left side..." He began. I mostly tuned him out. The problem was irrelevant to all--and doubly so for me since I didn't mess with healing spells.
After a time I was saved from his drivel by my good friend from the local college, Steph. "Did you see the new law!?"
"Outrageous!" I said.
"Werewolf registration!" She said in disbelief. Everyone at the party was a Werewolf, there to lend moral support the week after the full moon.
"We know it's going to happen," I said.
"I know," Steph said. "But I was hoping..."
"5 dollars Griffalcon comes through and vetoes for us?"
"I always take easy bets, you're on."
"Gambling in my household!" our hostess, Lady Nuckerbalm, cried.
"On politics," Steph said.
Lady Nuckerbalm chuckled. "You're a fool Anthony, the Packs sided with the Dark Lord last war and the Shadow is negotiating again. He has no love for any Werewolf, even us."
