That night, Bernadette dreamed. The first dream was simple and clear. Here was Cardinal Jerome come to visit her again. She was nervous - this was highly unusual, she was a nun of little importance in a convent of little importance, yet a Cardinal was coming to visit her again. In the dream they spoke in the greenhouse and the Cardinal smiled at her. He was asking her many many questions. Did she dream recently? What are the prophetic dreams like? Had she ever experimented with drugs in her youth? Questions about her loyalty to the church - her understanding of her vows, her willingness to undertake orders. On and on the conversation went - the scene spun around her and behind Cardinal Jerome she could see a man with glasses wrapped in a red cloak - watching. She nodded in agreement to something Cardinal Jerome had said, but she did not know what. He smiled and raised his hand for her to kiss. The dream broke.

She did not wake up however. Instead there was a gray mist that drifted across her vision, and as it cleared she saw herself, only not as herself. Here she was a tall woman with a strong face - prominent nose and sharp chin that made her, if not conventionally beautiful, still intriguingly attractive. Her hair was covered by a thin veil and her dress was in the Roman style, a long draped dress and sandals upon her feet. She was gazing into a pool of water but looked up when she heard her name called.

"Coelia! Coelia!"

A young girl also wearing a thin veil upon her head and being no more than 10 was running towards her. "Oh Coelia!"

"Olympia! You are a Priestess of the Sacred Flame. You will cease running and shouting in the temple this instant!" Coelia's voice was firm, but her eyes were filled with warmth. Olympia was one of the newer Vestals to enter the temple and had to leave all the trappings of childhood behind.

"Apologies Vestalis Maxima but truly this is an emergency! Isidora is in great danger!"
