Sarah's Stroke
and she said that there was such a turn over of people that it might prove an advantage for only a short while. She did say that S might be able to get Physio help closer to home in Welshpool so that might make visits easier. S had the advantage of being much younger so was fitter before the stroke struck.

15 Feb Ed's birthday. Had arranged for Ed to be met at Shrewsbury station at 2pm. I met him and then went on to the hosp. Mary & Lucy already there and Mark was just getting his parking ticket as we arrived. Sarah up in her chair and looking perky. She was very pleased to see Ed. We gave him his birthday present of a bike stand when he got home having had a drama with Citilink when it did not arrive by 12 pm as ordered. Sarah was proud to show off with the help of the physio who got her to walk a few steps across the ward. Her legs seemed very week and bandy and uncoordinated Ed took an arm as well and walked her a bit further down the ward. She turned a bit too quickly at the end and was chided by the physio to take smaller slower steps. They got back to the chair and S was reminded not to dive into it. We were all impressed and she was beaming. She had complained a few days earlier that she could not walk yet so this was quite an achievement. A bit of a bookmark in events.

After Ed said S did not seem too bad and was much better than he had feared. He said his boss had allowed him to take Monday off and work from home but he would have needed a special laptop. He might do that next week.
