One of these day's I'll make it. One of these days will be for real. One of these days...
One of these days my day will come.
My name is Esmerelda, and this is my story.
"EzEzEz! Wait for me!" Mary's White summer dress flowed behind her as she ran towards me, school books in hand. Mary had chosen to put her blond hair in pigtails that ended just above her shoulders, which made her look quite a bit younger than her 18 years. I quirked a smile at her antics which always proved to brighten the day. "Alright, Alright, don't trip and get a run in your hose again; we don't have time to go back and change."
Mary doubled over for a moment before looking up and beaming. "Why do you always have to walk so fast? It's not like the library is going anywhere."
Easy for her to say, she'd never seen dusty stacks of tomes blink out of existence on the third floor. There's something at once creepy and settling about the place; something that has drawn me to it from the moment we moved to Home.
What, never heard of Home? I'm not surprised. I'd say nothing ever happens here but that would be a lie. A lot happens in this sleepy little town, but most people don't open their eyes enough to see it.
