Just beyond the bay I see
A little girl look back at me
Hello I say, with dawn still nigh
But still I see her softly sigh

And someday soon for you I'll cry".

Looked again and I did see
My angel staring back at me
And though her cheek was still but nigh
I saw her gleam and softly sigh
"My heart with you it will reside
And of my love it will confide."

Yearned for her did I and see
My maiden gazing back at me
With eyes of blue she drew me nigh
And in our arms we softly sighed
"With you my love we shall defy
That fairytales are all but lies".

And danced with her that night did I
Beyond the moon and starry sky.
