With hair the color of honey wheat and pale blue eyes, she of course fell in the "popular" group. As she walked out of the lab, our eyes met. I slowly pulled my hands from my pockets. Unsure of my next move, I reached tentatively for her hand. This was a first for us, and I wasn't sure if she would actually recognize our growing affection in front of the judgmental eyes of our peers. Jenna, as always, could read my thoughts, and warmly laced her fingers through mine.

I continued my walk down the hallway, this time with Jenna by my side and my head held high. I didn't feel the need to avert my eyes when challenged by the questioning looks of others. She suddenly had a feeling of intense dread, realizing now the field was likely bathed in blood from those she had seen fighting in the distance.
As she gazed across the battle field she had thought she heard her name whispered in the breeze. She willed herself to turn and her gaze settled on a bright, translucent light off in the distance. She heard her name whispered again and knew for sure it was coming from that direction. She remembered feeling intensely afraid of the light, even more so than the battle of creatures she could not identify, which was strange.
Jenna took a deep breath and pulled out her ipod, hoping to find something to lure her back to sleep. Lately dreams like this had been a nightly occurrence and she was exhausted
