Long has the opposite sex been far too oppressed by the dominant male sector; and their long and arduous toil has had significant effects upon the societal landscape. As Socrates once posited, "Once made equal to man, woman becomes his superior." But the word "Feminism" would be an insult to those who participated in the humanistic crusade, for that would entail that the struggle was only applicable to individuals of a certain gender identification, instead of the wider societal spectrum. The word "Feminist" is rather inaccurate as well. The term entails that the individual in question is one of little consequence, merely because she is a woman.
But what occurs when women are attracted to men of a lower societal rank or lessened intellectual acumen? I am not saddened at the fact that I obtain larger and far too more grandiose aspirations than that of my partner; I am only rather saddened at the fact that I notice a sense of melancholy in him, whenever I relate to him of my desire to continue on with these aspirations. Recently, I read an article (which served as a means of inspiration for this one) which spoke of the limitless opportunities that modern society has provided for the young, career-oriented woman. But young woman feel far too often flustered and overwhelmed at this cornucopia of choices. At this dilemma, I say, "nay". We must not desire that our mothers, fathers, sisters, pastors, girlfriends, etc. make the decision for us. We must not be ungrateful at the pioneers of the titillating revolution; our own proverbial "mothers" who paved the way for our social and intellectual freedoms. We must be audacious and decisive in our ambitions and desires. If a woman desires to attend law school in order to acquire her degree, then it is entirely permissible; as long as she does not stray from that particular course of action. We must look to our ancestors for inspiration. We must choose partners not based solely upon their intellectual acumen, but much rather upon their ability to assist us in refining our career goals.
Now more than ever, we must not be overwhelmed. In our modern society, it has become the sole duty and task of the woman to outperform the male counterpart in the areas in which he is lacking. It is up to us to correct the mistakes of the world. But to do so, we must maintain a contented mind and heart. A decisive course of action is the only means to fulfill such a seemingly impossible objective.
