Long Lost
Nothing in this world
can make me want you less.
Nothing in this world
can ease this horrible unrest.

You leave me broken on the floor,
Like a toy, unspoken for.
I look up at you,
hoping to see some shame,
but there you are,
living just the same.

We were supposed to move in together.
We were supposed to be in love.
But you couldn't grow up like the others.
You couldn't rise above.

And now you grow up?
And now you move out?
You're a few months too late,
And I, a few months too proud.

I was so unhappy.
I was so enraged.
I think I may have been real lucky,
to have left you, unscathed.

I hope you're happy now.
I hope that I am too.
It's funny what the world rebounds,
And what it let's fall through.

Nothing in this world
could make me, forget you.
Nothing in this world would ever do.
