"Bloody hell" I muttered under my breath.
Squinting under the light, I pieced my fortune back together and just about managed to work out the faded words on the paper.
I ripped up the paper and thought about eating the broken fortune cookie, the thing looked about 200 years old though so I decided against it.
I didn't notice Mrs. Greene come back until I was presented with a nice view of her cleavage. She had changed into a short black dress with stilleto heels, and here I thought this was about work.
"So I brought the proposal" I stuttered out.
"Lets forget about that" she said, adjusting her dress, giving me even more of an eyeful of her chest.
"Maybe I should go, I thought this was for work and that I'd get the chance to show you my proposal." I said, looking straight at her.
I turned around and hurried out of the chinese restaurant, and once again, the tradies and bums turned around to stare at me. I kept my eyes on the ground, my cheeks burning as I half ran out.
About two weeks passed and I saw no more of Mrs. Greene then usual which was mostly nothing. I got home on friday and checked the news, right in time to see the smiling face of Mrs. Greene and my arch enemy, the person I was battling for the promotion. These words flashed across the screen "Mr. Tucker promoted to general manager at Aston Legal."
"The fucking bitch, maybe I should have slept with her."
