Georgia Lenore Bell did not rattle easily. But on October 10, her twin brother George, watched her open the ivory colored hand printed envelope which had been shoved under their front door. Georgia's brown eyes scanned across the letter and with each line, he saw all the blood drain from her face.
"G?" he asked. It took him only three steps to cross the distance between them, the last step was a leap to catch her before she hit the floor. As he threw one arm under her knees, the other supporting her back, he lifted her off the floor and onto the living room sofa. Three leaves of handwritten paper fell from G's hands and fluttered to the floor.
Quickly retreating into the kitchen, George returned with a glass of water and a dampened towel. "G, G," he called softly, kneeling by his sister's prone body, he placed the towel on her forehead.
"Wha- What happened?" G sat up, holding the towel in place and accepting sips of water offered by her brother.
