So actress Sarah Michelle Gellar is trending on Twitter right now. The reason she is being talked about on the social networking site (and effective writing procrastination tool I may add) is because she has a new show that's just been picked up on CBS. So far, the premise for 'Ringer' sounds interesting. Sarah plays a woman who is headhunted by the Mob, so she decides to adopt her twin sister's identity, oblivious to the fact that she too, is a target.

I have a soft spot for Sarah, and it's not just because she *is* Buffy, which happens to be one of my fave shows of all time. By all accounts, Sarah does not play the Hollywood game, to the point of her being supposedly one of the most difficult actresses to work with. It is alleged that studio bosses are not happy with her for not doing enough publicity for movies she's featured in, along with numerous reports of her diva attitude on the Buffy set. She is a private person who never seems to be papped at The Ivy or at movie premieres. Even her daughter, with husband Freddie Prinze Jr., was given a "normal" name - Charlotte.

"Ringer" is the second tv project that Sarah has been involved in since Buffy, the first being "The Wonderful Maladys" which had not been picked up by any networks. Ringer is actually written by one of the writers and producers of "Supernatural". Wonder if Jensen or Jared will make an appearance? ;)
