as though someone was about to come up from behind. While I didn't recognize most of what they said, I coudln't help but notice Dyalae's name as it poped up into the coversation breifly followed by another comment and some chuckles. I glanced to myside at the yellow tailed mer, they huffed but continued to mindlessly trace the patters on the inside of my arm. Soon enough and after enough looking around and more whispering the two mer made their way down the hall and vanished round the corner. Dy let got of my arm and within seconds the marking was gone, only a pale red sploch left.
"Come on, we don't have much time before they notice that we're gone." Dy started back down the hall, dragging me behind.
I glaced around some more. "Why didn't they see us?" I found myself whispering rather loudly, I coudln't bring myself to speak in my full voice knowing that those people were swimming around looking for us, or so I thought.
"Magic. They sensed it, but they couldn't see us." Dy stated quietly as we whipped through some of the halls before vanishing through arch ways and swimming between rooms.
I looked back at my arm as the red spots. "So those markings were from the magic? They stick for you, so why don't they for me?"
"You don't have Nerẏma. IN short, you are human. Your body dispels magic as soon as it can, and thus you can't hold a spell for long. Apparently it lasts longer with sound rather then direct contact, so that's nice to know." We found ourselves in this lage room with varios slabs of rocks. Besides some of the slabs were various crates and chests. I coudln't help but notice the number of pictures in the room and the amount of pottery they had. Things that I've seen the woman in Iadale make.
Along the side of the walls were holes, rather large ones too, that let in light and looked out over the sprawling reef that made up Cẏma. Dy wasted no time in heading straight for the holes. "Come on." They said before slipping through with a slightly flick of their tail.
I swam up to the hole and stuck my head out before forcing myself through, though it wasn't easy to get my shoulders through and I ended up cutting myself on one of the deceivingly smooth rocks. Soon we were treading water, along the wall of the palace before Dy made the decision to make a break for the reef. "What about Aedallo?"
"We should worry about ourselves first." Dy huffed
I glanced over my should, back towards the palace. My brows furrowed I stare until something began to drag me off again. I returned my gaze forward as Dy continued to drag me. "We can't just leave him in there."
"Yes we can"
