I dashed around the greek-style column barring my path and continued racing towards the Emergency Exit as the ceiling crumbled above my head. Outside I could hear yelling, screaming, sirens, dogs barking in alarm; it was almost stereotypical, this chaos. The exit loomed ahead and I put on a burst of speed.
