the best of friends or anything. But come on!
Mr. Calvin must have seen my face because he started grinning and looking for Alexander. "Aiden, would you please accompany Mr. Glass? She is going to all the teachers classrooms saying that we ARE going to be switching. Make sure she doesn't get in any trouble."
A tall figure appeared around Mr. Calvin and came up and stood next to me. It was way too dark to see any of his physical appearances, but I could tell he was tall. Very, very tall. "Yes, Mr. Calvin."
The way Aiden said Mr. Calvin's name made my skin crawl. It was like he was sneering. His voice was husky and deep.
Wait, I thought to myself, I don't know any Aidens...And I know every kid in this class.
"Mr. Calvin? Is Alexander new?" I asked curiously. If he was new, then maybe he was actually good looking. Who knew?
"Yes, Just transfered here from New York. Quite something. Now you two go. Here," He walked over to his desk and pulled out another flashlight. "Use this. I know it gets pretty dark here."
I grabbed the flashlight of Mr. Calvin's sweaty, clammy hands. I skipped to the door, and looked back at Alexander, who was waiting patiently.
I reached for the cold door-handle, but something else opened it, and it wasn't someone from the other side. The door flew open and there was a gust of wind. How odd, I thought. OH well.
Stepping through the door and out into the hallway, It still seemed way too quiet. I could only hear my footsteps and the water on the roof and dripping off of me. I couldn't hear Aiden's footsteps and he was walking right beside me. Must be a New Yorker thing.
"So," I began to ask "Why are you coming here? Like, instead of staying in New York?" Aiden had the flashlight and was letting it beam ahead of us. So I still couldn't see his face.
