Chapter One:
Kari angrily stomped her way from the car to the front door of their new house. Her mom followed wrapped around her new boyfriend Chip. "We're home!" Her mother happily exclaimed. Kari dully waited for her mother to open the door so she could claim her rooms. As soon as the door was open, Kari was the first inside. She claimed the basement, that she would turn into her bedroom, and a smaller room to put her art studio in. Her mother could care less, so she didn't object. All she cared about was her new boyfriend. "Mom, I'm going out to see what's around here. Okay?" Kari asked already half way out the door. Her mom waved her out as an 'okay'.
