Then there is the white breeze block that makes up most of the wall in the flat (giving the prisoneque appearance mentioned above). I've so far managed to find a map of the world to break up the white and give the room a bit of character, though to be quite frank it still looks completely dull.
Of course the other big news is that I met my flatmates (and hopefully friends!) for the next 10 months. At the moment I am not overly enamoured. Nettie and Miranda seem like nice enough people, however they both are massively occupied with sex and alcohol, topics not unfamiliar by any stretch of the imagination, but not overexploited. Sarah on the other hand is the complete opposite, with no interest in going to either pub or club, and no sexual experience to speak of. Of course this means I have to make a decision this week which will no doubt define my entire university experience.

Met the other members of Block 40 today, and I am surprised by how diverse a bunch we seem to be. Though my own flat is mostly English, the rest of the block contains 1 American, 3 Irish, 3 Scots, 1 Lithuanian, 1 Polish, 1 Welsh, 1 half Irish half Indian, 1 French, 1 Nigerian, 1 Cyprian, and 2 Romanians. What's more, most of them seem to be following the trend set by Miranda and Nettie, which is definitely influencing my decision in regards to who to spend the most time with. Though I am shy at best when it comes to clubs, this could be a chance for me to change my ways, and become a new person!
They are all (with a few exceptions) planning on going out to a club tonight, with a UV theme. Uncertain as to what this meant, I approached Nettie who informed me it involved putting glow in the dark paint on my face and dancing like a maniac. There is a first time for everything I suppose.
