Eyes Skye Blue
I met Skye when I was seven years old. I was playing in the school field away from the other children. The sky was a kind of blue that you only see in Disney films, and the grass that engulfed my miniature frame was a picturesque green. I sat playing with the daisies, trying to weave them like the other children. But I lacked siblings to show me how.
Today was my favourite kind of day, the air was warm and this meant I could wear my special orange dungaree shorts. Mum didn't like me wearing them too often. She said that they clashed with my strange blue eyes. Strange because she, nor my father had blue eyes. However, today was warm and my dungaree shorts were the only suitable choice.

Mum was always particular about appearances. She said; 'if one looks smart then they are more likely to achieve'. But I wanted to ride my scooter down the hill, and play in the mud with the other boys. Mum said I wasn't like other boys, and she didn't want me to get my hair messy. I liked my hair messy and I liked playing with the other boys. My hair always was peculiar, mum tried to gel it into a perfect parting like dads, but it just flopped down in front of my face like it had an attraction to my eyes. This annoyed her but there really was nothing anyone could do!

It was on this day that I first met skye, she was the same height as me and had long brown hair in plaits that bounced from her waist when she skipped. she also wore dungaree shorts in yellow and old, scuffed converse's. She bounced over to me and stare down at me with a puzzled look on her face, tilting her head side to side until she grabbed the daisy from my hand and threaded it through the stem on hers to form the perfect start to a chain. "Why are you crying?" She asked me. "I'm not crying!I just don't know how to do it, and mum would be so proud if I knew how... but I don't." I said inbetween sniffs. She pulled a daisy from the grass and put it in my hand, an then guide my hand hand so that the daisy threaded through the stalk of the chain she had just made. "See there, you did that. All by yourself." She said proudly. "I did it! I laughed, see there? I did that!" I agreed. We both laughed and jumped up, linking hands and spinning in a circle making the clouds above our heads blur into endless white candyfloss.

I didn't need a brother or sister to show me how to and right from wrong...

I had skye.
