The crow was shimmering black, with an iridescent beak, and sharp eyes. It was a rather smart crow, as it liked to think, so when it swooped down to perch by the shiny silver object in the snow it thought 'Oh, what a smart crow i am, i saw this beautiful thing first and now i will take it back to my nest so all of the other crows will praise me for finding it!' The crow was too busy thinking this to notice the faint pulsing black aura beating off the amulet, so when it bent down to pluck it up in its beak it didnt realize the danger it was putting itself in.
Three seconds later, it exploded in a mass of feathers and guts.
Del was tall, and always dressed in red. Today he wore a smart maroon colored suit, and polished dyed leather shoes. He was clean shaven. but wore a cherry scarf over his ivory chin.
Del worked for a short man with an eyepatch named Maurice. Del's footsteps echoed down the bleached fluorescent hallway as he approached Maurices office. He carried a black leather briefcase in one hand, ans a small handgun in the other.
Del knocked before entering the large office, because he knew Maurice liked his privacy. "Enter" said a gravelly voice from inside, "Ah, Del, so good to see you. Why dont you have a seat and we can discuss what you brought me today" Del silently took a seat in a modern looking leather chair. The whole office had been revamped from its previous state of chaos after the bomb went off. The huge windows paneling the wall were covered by curtains, blocking the expansive view of the city. A mahogany desk stood with its back towards the window, looking towards the door. Everything was clearly new and fashionable.
"Now, as you know, when the Red Hand planted their bomb, they blew away something very important to me. It flew right out that window" He gestured behind him. "Do you know what the Srak is?" But before Del could answer, he continued: "of course you do, everyone in this industry does. I believe that that amulet has more power than any other magical object in the world. So powerful in fact, that you would explode from the sheer intensity of its aura if you touched it. Unless you have a very strong magic in you, which most people don't."
At this point Maurice got up and poured two amber colored drinks at the mini bar, and handed one to Del. "I need you to go find it before the rebel Hands do. The Red Hand doesnt know its gone yet, but they will soon because someone or something is likely to stumble on it."
