"Now, that answer I can't give to you right now. That one you have to figure out for yourself. I can tell you that you are indeed dead, and that you are here for a very important reason. You are here, in this room because it holds a key to what you need to know before you are allowed to move on."

"'Allowed to move on?' What does that mean? I don't get it. Am I waiting for God's judgement? Am I in purgatory?"

As his vision landed uneasily on the painting of The Last Supper, he thought about God. He thought about the sinners in the picture, surely he was among them? He had never followed a Christian code of Ethics. In fact, he never followed any real code of ethics at all. He found it easy to forget about those less fortunate then him. In fact, he hardly ever gave them a thought. He wondered if his ambivalence would land him in hell. He felt panic

Todd broke the silence this time, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I didn't help out those less fortunate then me, I'm sorry I don't read the bible, I'm sorry for all those things I didn't do that I should have." These things were true. They were true out of fear. A fear that he would be sent to hell to suffer. That he would suffer like all the tormented humans who were left behind at the bottom of the mammoth painting he was staring at.

The voice just laughed and said, "That may be so, but I already told you that you were not wrong about religion, that is not why you are stuck in this in between. The reason you are stuck here is different. It's a concept that you are unable to grasp. An understanding about life, death and the afterlife that you are unable to understand."
