Sanah pushed the power button of her desktop with anxiously. The dark room lighted up with bright glare from the monitor. While monitor showed booting sequence, Sanah tried to sort out myriad of thoughts tangled in her mind.
Sanah.. The name of her character in the game she's been playing. She had started living her character more than her real life. Her so called addiction to the game was only escape from her real life issues. Real life wasn't particularly harsh upon her, yet she felt helpless at every moment of life. More she tried to be herself, more she felt tangled in her complications of life. Relationships in real life were too complicated for her. She preferred the relationships she had built in her game. People didn't judge her often in the game; and even if they did, she always had option to ignore them. There were so many things in the game that helped her forget the real life.
As days passed by, she felt more and more disconnected from reality. The game had given her given her range of emotions she would never have otherwise experienced otherwise. The sense of adventure, thrill and.. And the sense of belonging. His name was Bheem. Somehow even after knowing his real name, she always called him Bheem. That's just how their friendship developed. She felt comfortable when she was with him. Yet after so many years, he was the reason Sanah was anxious tonight. It's been three weeks since, she last spoke to him or even saw him online. Sudden disappearance of a close friend like Bheem made her concerned, anxious. Even while experiencing these emotions, Sanah smiled quietly to herself. She had never felt these emotions before. Her game had given her yet another experience she hadn't got otherwise.
The PC was fully on now and Sanah had already clicked the game icon. She entered her login details in the game nervously. She desperately wanted to see him today. Her thoughts were racing through what happened three weeks back. She really wished things didn't turn out this way. She really didn't want that night to be the reason for his absence. Whatever happened that night was impulsive on her part. She was only, yet again, was trying to be truthful to herself, be herself.
The game had finally loaded. Sanah was standing still on the bridge over the river, just where she had seen him last time. Lazy crocodile eyed her from river bank down below. She quickly checked all the ways she could find him. He was nowhere. The game showed his last login to be three weeks back. Surge of emotions took over her and suddenly, almost as if she wanted to do this in real life, Sanah took plunge into the depths below. There was more than one splash in the river.
