Heaven's Chaos
The sun has started to rise over the rooftops of Paris, illuminating Eiffel's great steel monstrosity and banishing the moon for another day. Ondreb has started to slink away, drawing his tattered cloak over his face making him appear as if he could be a normal Parisian off to a day in the sweatbox or the mines. The enlightenment hits me when the other two Corbati start screaming. Really screaming. The sun. It appears to be burning them, like some run of the mill children's tale straight from the Brothers Grimm. The two collapse in on themselves, making enough noise to raise holy hell, and just...disappear. I blink once and they're gone.
I search frantically for Ondreb and catch his cloak disappearing around the great skeleton of Notre Dame. Once he's gone I sink to my knees and weep at my good fortune.
