Electro Cat gently sat down on the floor of the control room. Her asshole made contact with the cold plastic, not an entirely bad sensation. She watched the humans, who were frantically pressing buttons and arguing about something called a 'decayed orbit.'
After a minute, the flashing red lights got on her nerves. She stood, stretched, and went to check on her food receptacle. Food was dispensed at 12:00 noon and night, except for that one time 3 years 6 weeks 1 day ago when the food had appeared some hours earlier, unbeknown and irritatingly stale. She called it an 'anomaly', a word she had picked up from the humans, and since then had changed her routine to check the dispenser every few hours.
There was no food. She checked the flavor control, still set to chicken. Electro Cat always had chicken.
