One day, when the princess had tired of her normal activities (sitting by the window for example, or reading a book for the seventh time), she decided she would tour the castle. Her father, the king, was away in foreign lands. Her mother, the queen, was away at a special Queen's Ball across the moor. Such events were highly secretized, and no one dare ask what happened at the Queen's Ball. The princess was acutely aware of the fact that, besides her dozing maid, she was alone. This is when the idea of touring the castle's damp halls occured to her. How much of this castle had she seen? She had lived in it all her life, surely. But many corridors appeared new to her as she roamed the long labryinthine floors. One such hall was found through a small passageway the princess took to be maid's quarters, though no one dwelled there as she sauntered through. It was a small square of a room, outfitted with two beds, a dirty sink and a myriad of cleaning supplies. Through the opposite door was the strange hall. It's broad, panelled walls were blanketed in tapestries.
