no handhold or handle to force it open with. The door slid UPWARD, rather than OUTWARD, and he stepped into the interior of the cockpit. Starting the ignition--secretly, again, since there was no TRUE ignition, where a key could be inserted and rotated to ignite the car's engine. When the engine roared to silent life, and the door slid closed, the Batman put his foot on the gas pedal and sped off, into the starry night, flame sprouting and tailing the Batmobile as it exited Gotham, and made for the outskirts.

The vastness of the caverns was nearly overpowering. When the sleek black obsidian of the Batmobile drove through the sliding holographic doors, clouds upon clouds of blackness hovered over its form--clotting it out. Bats. Bats were his thing. Winged creatures of the night. Luckily, within the noise-proof cockpit of the black bullet, he couldn't hear the ear-splitting, deafening shrieks of the bats.
The tunnel was long, extentsive, and finally ended rather abruptly, connecting to a cavern as wide as the world above. When the bullet entered the arched doorway of the cave, lights blasted on from all sides. Bright lights that pierced the darkness that hung upon the cave in a fog. The bats entered with it, and split into multiple clouds, flying upward, outward, through nooks and crannies, as well as other tunnels or caves--disappearing.
The door slid upward. A shadow of a shadow stepped out from the bullet-car. Doors closed behind the shadow, slamming with a booming CLICK! as they closed.
