stupid. "What part of the continent are you from that you haven't seen a Polura before? They are one of the best hunters and the most loyal by far. That's why my companion is Jaerd." Jaerd, the pet, rose its head at the mention of its name and its tailed wriggled. "Where is your companion, anyhow? He could have helped you, or at least warned you that you were being hunted."
Ricure still stood, holding her jammed gun and lowered her eyes in shame, "I don't have one... That's what this mission was about."
The girl sighed, "Jeez..." They were silent after that and the girl continued chopping up the dead Polura. Ricure took this moment to wind down and really look at her saviour.
She was lightly tanned and thin but Ricure noticed the muscles barely defined on her arms and legs and belly. Her hair was long, as she was on the floor it touched the ground, Ricure thought maybe it reached her buttocks. And the hair was dark red, almost the colour of blood and in a braid. Her bangs got into her eyes, and the girl would brush them away as she dealt with the mutilated animal. She wore leather and fur, feathers and leaves. Most of the tribes Ricure knew of wore these kinds of clothing, tribes that wanted to go back to their roots and become part of nature. The girl also wore a lot of jewelry, some of them were talismans, others purely for decoration.
Ricure watched the girl put the severed pieces of the Polura in a bag and string the bag around her shoulder. She rose from the ground and dusted her knees off. She looked at Ricure, stepped closer and smiled.
"Go home for today, rest, and come back prepared to receive your companion another day. Get some training before you wander back into the jungle. I might not be here to save you next time... but I probably will." She laughed, "I'm here a lot." The girl stuck out her hand towards Ricure, "My name is Venecia."
Ricure shook Venecia's hand lightly, "I'm Ricure."
Venecia snatched her hand back like she had been burned and exclaimed, "Oh, Goddess, you're slimy-gross!" She sniffed the slime that was then on her hand.
"Oh... I was touch-"
"Were you playing with the Coivon plant? It smells like it."
"The vines with the purple stemmed leaves? Yeah, I was... I don't know what came over me."
"The water that comes out of those causes you to be high, it's poisonous.
