Joshua's favorite room in the library was in the south wing, opposite of the observatory. the library had served as a prison up until the government cut fundings for it. After being abandoned for 15 years, the city decided they couldn't afford to tear it down, so instead a library was built using most of the original structure.

While the observatory remained virtually the same, the South Guard Tower had been modified, so that all the windows were built over except for one. This one window was small, the average person wouldn't be able to fit their head through. The glass was cracked, and covered in a thick layer of dust so that everything outside of it appeared to be in sepia tone. Sometimes Joshua would think of cleaning it, but he forgot every time.

Almost every side of the room was covered in bookshelves. Below each shelf, there was a stack of filing cabinets. These contained the cities archives. While Joshua did enjoy reading the numerous history books that were located in the room, what he came there for were the archives. Decades of the town's history was secretly filed away between manila envelopes and someone's chicken scratch. Everyday Joshua found something new. He had been coming here for years, and there was still an abundance of information in the small room.
